The health and safety of people in the workplace is central for us and is an absolute priority for Osculati, and in this sense, within a framework of mutual roles and resp onsib il ities, th e c omp any is c ommitted to working together in synergy and continuously to create th e c ond itions to ensu re th e h igh es t l evel of s af ety f or p ers onnel in th e w ork p l ac e, b oth internal and ex ternal . In its commitment to assuring the highest level of safety, the company is particularly aware that a decisive role is played not only by the mandatory training and refresher courses, but also by the RLS, which proactively engages in the dissemination of a safety culture. Other key roles for the company are played by the occupational physician and the RSPP, who every year c arry ou t med ic al ex aminations and h ol d p eriod ic meetings, with thorough inspections of the company site, checking what steps need to be taken to prevent any hazardous situations. An initiative that has been initiated in the company to mitigate a risk not directly related to company operations, b u t eq u al l y imp ortant, rel ates to c ard iac arrest. I n 2 0 2 2 an A E D ( A u tomated E xt ernal Defibrillator) was introduced to enab l e not onl y O sc u l ati employees to take vital ac tion b u t al so th e w id er l oc al c ommu nity , as it is duly registered with the AREU and on the AEDdove application, which means all available defibrillators in the vicinity can be geolocalised with their availability times. Although no specific training is required for the use of this device, the company decided to offer a B L S D c ours e, with a related refresher course, to first aid team members interested in taking advantage of it. It should also be noted that to mitigate the main hazards related to company activities that could be a source of risk of injury (from e.g. tripping/slipping, cuts/punctures, work-related stress, crushing, manual handling of loads, ...), employees receive proper instruction on how to operate, through specific training c ou rses, and are given the necessary P P E depending on the work being carried out; including: T h e H R d ep artment ac ts as an intermed iary b etw een th e external c onsu l tants ( R S P P and oc c u p ational physician) and the company’s internal stakeholders. In particular, the HR department deals with: • scheduling regular, extraordinary and on-demand medical examinations of employees; • scheduling the regular annual meeting; • scheduling periodic audits; • scheduling the fire drill; • consultinig the occupational physician and the RSPP whenever there are internal actions that require their consultation; • organising health and safety training.
