D irec t em is s ions Greenhouse gas emissions related to Osculati’s activities can be divided into direct and indirect emissions: D irec t em is s ions result from the direct combustion of fossil fuels, purchased for heating or to fuel transport vehicles. I nd irec t em is s ions refer to the production of electricity imported and consumed by the company for electrical equipment, heating and lighting inside the buildings. The direct emissions of Scope 1 are mainly generated by three sources: • methane; • diesel; • p etrol . Osculati generated a total of 246,76 tCO₂e and Scope 1 emissions during 2023: The data presented show a steady reduction in direct emissions produced by the Company over the three-year period. This trend can be attributed to a progressive reduction in the consumption of methane, diesel and petrol, due also to intervention and efficiency-boosting measures introduced by the Company in recent years. 6 The emission factors used to calculate tCO 2 e are taken from the Defra 2021, 2022 and 2023 databases (UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs). The slight difference regarding the emissions corresponding to methane consumption reported in the previous reporting year are attributable to a recalculation made through the use of more up-to-date emission factors.
