Operation of the stuffing box is usually under the waterline; lubrication and cooling by water. In case of operation above or on the waterline, an external water cooling source is needed. Version A: brass hose adaptor for external lubrication by water (if not used, a brass closing cap is supplied) + greasing aperture with brass cap. Version B: no hose adaptor and greasing aperture.
