LEWMAR electric winches can be operated by a simple solenoid (E series) or by a complex control unit (ELS series) featuring what follows: a slow start to avoid jerks, power cut-out when the winch reaches its working load limit, rotation speed automatic slowdown as the working load increases to allow for a precise setting of the sails. A complete electrical winch includes: self-tailing winch + power drive connection + motor gearbox + solenoid or control unit + switch. All LEWMAR Ocean self-tailing winches (from size 34 upwards) can be easily converted into electric by means of a special conversion kit that keeps the winch manual operation characteristics unaltered.
