Polyester has good shock absorbing characteristics but areas vulnerable to chafe should be protected with a piece of rubber hose or leather. Thanks to its construction, Dockline is easy to splice, exhibits good shock absorbing properties and remains soft and flexible at all times. This will help gain a good catenary angle and help dig it in, reducing the effect of pitching and tugging and protecting the line from the seabed and abrasion. Remember when selecting the size of line for an anchor warp, nylon is ideal at absorbing shock loads but it will have some strength reduction when wet. Have enough line on board to provide scope for at least 7 x the max depth of water expected. The unique construction offers the same popular attributes available with Marlow’s other mooring products including good abrasion resistance and shock absorption with soft and supple flexibility and zero strength loss or shrinkage.
