Lewmar 2019

www.lewmar.com Vista As electrical sliding systems are becoming increasingly common, Lewmar is working on a number of concept designs that allow large spans of glass to be smoothly lowered, making it possible to remove the barrier between inside and outside spaces. Powered by electric linear actuators or proven worm drive cables, designs exist to allow straight vertical drops or more complex pop in and slide systems. Typical panel sizes are between 2 and 3.5m. Powered Vista drop The flow between inside and outside space has become an increasingly common priority in modern boat design. New bespoke designs are being created for large sliding panes of glass that are designed to disappear into the framework of the boat. With designs ranging from 2-3m in length, large areas of glass can drop to mid-height or be fully hidden below deck to create a sea terrace area. Using a combination of powered linear actuators or spiral worm wheel drive cables these large expanses of glass can be lowered in port or at anchor to generate the feeling of open space and reduce the need to run noisy air conditioning systems.
